Timeline: Dubai Visas for Pakistanis Since April 2024

Dubai visas for Pakistanis were never banned. What changed was how many applications were approved, and for whom. The chart shows each group of applicants since 2024; the cards below mark each change.

Why Dubai Visas Are Rejected for Pakistanis

UAE immigration rarely gives a reason, and there is no published profile of who is approved. A rejection often reads only "discrepancy in documents", even when the documents are in order. From the files we have seen since 2024, rejections come down to these:

• Overstays. Visitors who stayed past their visa, or used a visit visa to look for work, are the main reason the UAE tightened approvals for Pakistani applicants.
• Misuse of transit visas. Transit visas used to have an approval rate of almost 100%. When 30 day visas started being refused, many applicants switched to transit visas, some with fake onward tickets, and overstayed. Transit visas were then suspended for all Pakistani nationals, genuine travellers included.
• Profile. Applications from individuals under 40 are processed, but they are the group most often refused. Age, travel history and the reason for the trip all weigh on the decision.
• Documents. Unclear scans, missing pages, or a bank statement that does not support the trip. These are the rejections you can prevent.

How to Improve Your Approval Chances

1. Check your profile before you pay. If your profile is not being approved this month, waiting costs less than a rejection, and a rejection stays on your record.
2. Send a strong bank statement. The last 6 months, signed and stamped by your bank, with a balance that matches the trip.
3. Attach a real travel plan. A hotel booking and a return flight reservation. If you do not have them yet, we arrange both.
4. Keep every document genuine. Forged tickets, bookings or bank letters lead to long bans, not just a rejection.
5. Avoid "guaranteed approval" agents. Nobody can guarantee a UAE visa. Shortcuts are what closed transit visas for everyone.
6. Apply early. At least 2 weeks before you travel, as some files take 7-10 working days.

Is there a Dubai visa ban for Pakistani citizens?

No. There is no official ban, and the UAE Embassy in Pakistan has denied reports of one. Visit visas are being processed, with good approval rates for families and for individual applicants aged 40 and over. Applications from individuals under 40 are processed too, but fewer are approved.

Can Pakistanis get a Dubai transit visa now?

Not at the moment. 48 and 96 hour transit visas are suspended for Pakistani nationals. They used to be approved almost every time, but after many applicants used them to enter and overstay, the UAE suspended them temporarily. When will Dubai visas fully open for Pakistanis?

There is no announced date. The UAE does not publish when it changes approvals for a nationality; we see it in the decisions. This page is updated as soon as that happens.

Can Pakistanis get a Dubai visa on arrival?

No. Pakistani passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in the UAE. Every visa must be approved before departure, and your airline will ask for an OK-to-Board confirmation before you fly.

Do I need a bank statement for a Dubai visit visa?

Yes. A bank statement is required with every Dubai visit visa application. Upload a statement stamped by your bank for the last 6 months; a healthy closing balance makes the strongest file.

What happens if my Dubai visa is rejected?

Visa fees are generally not refundable, which is why our consultants review every document before you pay. If you were rejected elsewhere, we can look at your file and advise whether and how to reapply.

Can Pakistanis get a UAE work visa?
